Organisers of HortEx Vietnam successfully concluded 3 kick off meetings for coming 2019 edition!
The series of Kick-off meetings introducing HortEx Vietnam 2019, the 2ndInternational Exhibition and Conference for Horticultural and Floricultural Production and Processing Technology in Vietnam, took place from 16 to 18 October 2018 in Hanoi, Dalat and
Ho Chi Minh City.
The events were attended by delegates from many government bodies and associations, including Department of Crop Production of Vietnam – Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Lam Dong Crop Production and Plant Protection Sub Department, Lam Dong Tourism, Trade and Investment Promotion Center (TIPC), Vietnam Fruit & Vegetable Association (VinaFruit), Dalat Flower Association, The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Vietnam, as well as many media and industry professionals from the horticulture and floriculture industry.
The kick-off meetings of HortEx Vietnam let interested followers of the event stay ahead of new features in HortEx Vietnam 2019 and get more insight information about the horticultural and floricultural market in Vietnam.
During the kick off meeting in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Willem Schoustra, Agricultural Counsellor of the Netherlands Embassy in Vietnam, addressed the importance of co-operation between The Netherlands and Vietnam and underlined the importance of HortEx Vietnam as platform to enable foreign companies to enter this huge upcoming and emerging market.
HortEx Vietnam 2019 is organized by Nova Exhibitions B.V. from The Netherlands together with Minh Vi Exhibition and Advertisement Services Co., Ltd. (VEAS) from Vietnam. The coming edition of HortEx Vietnam will take place from 13 – 15 March 2019 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City.
Vietnam’s agricultural sector is amongst the most robust ones in South East Asia and horticulture and floriculture are at the spearhead of that industry. During the first 5 months of 2018, fruit and vegetable exports have yielded fruitful results of 1.62 billion USD for Vietnam, increased by 16.54% year-to-year in comparison to 2018.
Fruits and vegetables are highly anticipated to become the main export of Vietnams agricultural sector in the very near future and this week the Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union, Mr. Thao Xuan Sung, said that exports of fruits & vegetables have outstripped crude oil for the first time in the first four months of this year.
Currently companies from 21 countries worldwide have already registered for HortEx Vietnam 2019 underlining the large International interest.
