Update: Coronavirus 03.02.2020

We are looking forward to welcome you to this year’s HortEx Vietnam exhibition from
26-28 February 2020 in Ho Chi Minh City.

As you are aware, the coronavirus outbreak in China has spread to more than 27 countries (as per 3 February), the first cases of the coronavirus have also been identified in Vietnam.

Vietnam has stepped up efforts to control the spread of the coronavirus. Vietnam is proactive with policies and early measures and is controlling the situation.

Having extensive experience in dealing with SARS, MERS and other epidemic diseases in the past, Vietnam has a good health monitoring system to control and defeat this new (worldwide) outbreak of the Coronavirus. Thanks to Vietnam’s enormous efforts of all sectors and people involved, 2 virus infected Chinese citizens have been successfully cured in Vietnam and the situation is well under control. Vietnam remains a safe travel destination and daily life is going on as usual.

Up to now (as per 3 February) there have been 8 isolated coronavirus cases reported in Vietnam.

Due to the new efforts from the government to control the virus, Vietnam does not issue (business) visa anymore to Chinese citizens, therefore we do not expect to have any Chinese exhibitors and/or visitors to be present at HortEx Vietnam.

The safety and health of our exhibitors, visitors and partners is our number one priority, therefore we are in close contact with the responsible health authorities, we are monitoring the situation very closely and all necessary measures will be taken including:

– Hand disinfectors will now be provided at all entrances of the exhibition;
– We are increasing the frequency with which our facilities are disinfected;
– Rapid response medical teams and other health professionals;
– Frequent disinfection of the exhibition hall;

Should there be any changes to the current status, we will take account of any recommendations from the World Health Organisation, the relevant state authorities, and the municipal health authorities, and implement all appropriate instructions.
